Carbon-Neutrality Research in China—Trends and Emerging Themes

Carbon neutrality is a key human endeavor to deal with global climate while China the country producing most publications on carbon neutrality. However, what are focuses of carbon-neutrality research in China? To answer such an important question, this study adopts bibliometric approach analyze journal from China-based researchers during period 2008–2022 using CNKI and Scopus. Results showed that Chinese English journals by Chinese-based increased 4 2008 2879 2022. In journals, X.D. Hao was productive author 10 publications. Y.K. Zhou 14 As whole, Academy Sciences institution 376 Co-occurrence keywords analysis revealed seven themes articles, namely, “carbon change”, “energy transformation”, “peak emission”, emission low economy”, “realization path China”, “hydrogen energy clean energy”, “green finance sustainable development”. three major clusters were formed—“carbon, neutralities, control, utilization”, dioxide, neutrals, biomass, electrocatalysts”, “China, neutrality, development, economic development.” Most extant focused policy technological development. Emphasis shall be paid social change changes people’s behavior, sectoral emissions, leakage future research.
